Enviroment

Canadian Utility Construction Corp holds regular training sessions regarding hazardous and non-hazardous waste handling, as well as environmental awareness training with our customers and the Provincial Emergency Program.

Through this process CUC:

  • Ensures that any construction waste is properly collected and disposed of in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, permits and approval conditions and requirements.

  • Scrap pipe is collected and disposed of as per customer requirements.

  • Adheres to a spill contingency plan which includes:
    1. Spill procedures and required equipment to be on site (e.g. absorbent pads, oil collectors, etc.)
    2. On-site requirement of adequate and effective material to immediately respond to an environmental incident.
    3. Properly trained crews to ensure an awareness of environmental responsibilities and the proper response in the event of an incident.
    4. Immediate and detailed report of any incidents to our customer.

In a changing regulatory compliance climate, CUC recognizes the importance of maintaining an up-to-date environmental policy and a trained workforce whose environmental awareness is not an after-thought, but a primary focus.
